HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS ?

I get this a lot, “What’s a best way to take care of my eyelash extensions and make them last longer?”.
Whether you’re a new client or an existing client who needs a refresher – this is the information you’re looking for.
Typically, with good upkeep and touch ups every three weeks or so, you can make your eye lash extensions last forever. That way, you
will never need any eye make up. Here are some tips for you on how to care for your extensions.

This is huge. I can’t stress this enough. Once your fresh set of extensions are installed, any moisture around the eyes
a no-go.
You want the glue to really set in so that your lashes last as long as possible. Wash around the eye when cleansing their face
and to use an oil-free makeup remover if they have to clean makeup off. To avoid washing the lashes directly within the first
24-48 hours, keep the eye makeup to a minimum to maximize the extensions. Perhaps avoid washing your hair during this
time, but if you have to use only lukewarm water and keep water off your eyes. This also includes places like steam rooms,
very hot showers, saunas, spas, etc. If it is a very hot and humid day, perhaps even try staying out of the heat. All of this will
allow the adhesive to cure as strongly as possible.

No matter how long or where on your body, hair needs a good detangle every so often. To maintain your fluttery new lashes,
make sure to brush them out daily or as needed.

As tempting as it may seem, resist that urge to play with your lashes throughout the day or while cleansing. Not only can
fiddling with the extensions pull out the false lashes, but it can also end up damaging your natural lashes. Touch-ups are
required every two to three weeks. If you don’t have enough extensions left to fill because you were touch-happy, your
technician might charge you extra, up to the cost of a brand new set.

I like to put this here simply because you should no longer need it. The beauty of lash extensions is that you have lovely, long,
full lashes without having to wear mascara. We know that some of you may still want to wear mascara on occasion, which is
100% okay…with a caveat: the mascara must be made for lash extensions.
If you’re a mascara fiend, be sure only to wear a water-based mascara. This is not the same as waterproof mascara, so make sure
you look closely at those labels!
Apply only one coat of lash extension-safe mascara and only to the tips of your lashes.

This should be a no brainer, but you’d be surprised how many people are surprised. Which is DI, I get that you may be afraid to damage your brand new lash «tensions and so you stay away from touching them. But, the best way to maintain eyelash extensions is to keep them clean. Forget face wash. A lash cleanser is just the right tool for the job. But not just any lash cleanser—you need one specially formulated just for lash extensions! Or at least make sure you are using oil-free products on your face, particularly eye makeup removers and cleansers. When cleaning your eye area to remove makeup and eyeshadow, we recommend applying the cleanser to our eyelash cleanser brush. Then, very gently wash in downward sweeping motions over the eyelid and lash line. Rinse your eyes with fresh water until all product is removed.
After cleaning your lashes, let them air dry, then use your lash wand to gently brush them back into their fluffy shape!

Why cause any extra rub or friction to your lash extensions when you don’t need to? Avoid itching, puffing, rubbing or tugging on your lash area. And don’t worry about normal contact with water! Activities like swimming with lashes and face-washing are lash extension-safe since after the first 24 hours, your lashes are technically waterproof But, if you are swimming or suing in a hot spa daily, they probably won’t last quite as long as if you didn’t. You may also rub them more often if water gets in them as well. If you’re off to surf, go for a speedboat ride or swim in saltwater, make sure you grab some goggles first!

This may seem like self promotions, but this really is key. Sticking with your refill appointments every two to three weeks will help you maintain a full, luscious lash fine that turns heads! The longer you wait for a fill, the more your natural lashes will shed, which means more gaps in your lash line and overgrown lashes elsewhere. If you go too long without getting a lash refill, a new full set may be required, which equals time and money.
